Understanding Default vs Custom URLs
Default Board URL Structure
By default, your board URL follows this format:

Example: https://www.hootboard.com/B/12345/my-awesome-community
Custom Short URL Structure
With a custom short URL, you can create:
https://www.hootboard.com/[your-custom-path]
Example: https://www.hootboard.com/GTA6 or https://www.hootboard.com/techcommunity

- Avoid Confusion: Don't use similar URLs to existing popular websites
Brand Consistency: Consider using your brand name or community name
Avoid:
- Special characters:
@,#,%,&, etc. - Spaces or gaps
- Very long phrases
Potentially confusing abbreviations

Before Saving:
- Double-check spelling and formatting

- Consider long-term branding implications
- Test that the URL is easy to remember and share
