Your HootBoard profile contains the essential information that defines your HootBoard, including the name, description, and logo that users will see when visiting your board.
Accessing Board Profile Settings
- Log in to your HootBoard admin area
- Navigate to Admin Menu > Settings > Info
- Select the Board Profile tab
Updating Your Board Information
Board Name
The board name is the title that appears at the top of your board. To update it:
- Click in the Board Name field
- Enter your new board name
- Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
Board Description
The board description helps users understand what your board is about:
- Click in the Board Description field
- Enter a concise description of your board's purpose or community
- Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
Board Logo
Your board logo provides visual branding and helps users identify your board:
- Click the Board Logo upload area
- Select an image file from your computer (recommended formats: PNG or JPG)
- For best results, use a square image with dimensions of at least 200x200 pixels
- The logo will be displayed at the top of your board
- Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
Saving Your Changes
After making any updates to your board profile:
- Review your changes to ensure accuracy
- Click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the form
- Your changes will take effect immediately
Best Practices
- Choose a board name that clearly represents your community or topic
- Keep descriptions concise but informative (1-2 sentences work best)
- Use high-quality logos that remain clear when scaled to different sizes
- Regularly review and update your profile information to keep it current
