Customize your HootBoard's visual appearance with theme colors, background images, and hoot styling to create a unique branded experience for your community.
Accessing Branding Settings
- Log in to your HootBoard admin area
- Navigate to Admin Menu > Settings > Info
- Select the Branding tab
Theme Color Options
Default Theme Colors
- Pre-selected color scheme that provides a professional, consistent look
- These are HootBoard's preset default theme colors
- Select this option for a ready-to-use color scheme
Recommended Theme Colors
- Automatically extracted from your board logo
- Creates a cohesive brand experience by matching your logo's color palette
- Ideal for maintaining brand consistency
Custom Theme Colors
- Full control over your board's color scheme
- Use the color picker to select:
- Background Color: The main background color of your board
- Primary Color: Used for buttons, links, and key interface elements
Secondary Color: Used for accents and supporting interface elements
Hoot Background Colors
Customize the appearance of hoots (posts) on your board:
Recommended Colors for Hoots
- Enable custom or recommended color suggestions for hoot backgrounds when posting hoots
Works in conjunction with your custom theme or recommended colors
Background Image Settings
Use Theme Background Option
- Unchecked: Upload your own custom background image
- Click the upload button below the checkbox
- Select an image file from your computer
- Recommended: High-resolution images (1080x1920 or larger)
- Supported formats: JPG or PNG
- Checked: Use solid background color
- The background will use your selected background color from the theme settings
- Creates a clean, minimalist appearance
Saving Your Branding Changes
- Make your desired selections for theme colors, hoot colors, and background options
- If uploading a background image, wait for the upload to complete
- Click Save Changes at the bottom of the form
- Your new branding will be applied immediately to your board

- Color Accessibility: Ensure sufficient contrast between text and background colors
- Image Quality: Use high-resolution images for backgrounds to avoid pixelation
