Our Curated Local Events integration, powered by Yodel AI, automatically brings local events to your HootBoard, posting them as Hoots to keep your community in the loop about what’s happening nearby. This feature syncs real-time event data from Yodel’s AI event calendar, making it easy to share vibrant, local happenings with your audience.
Follow these steps to set it up and start sharing local events effortlessly.

Log in to Your Account
Start by signing in to your account. -
Navigate to Your HootBoard
From the My Boards page, goto your HootBoard dashboard.

Access Apps & Integrations
In the admin panel, click on the Apps & Integrations option.

Explore Integrations and Services
In the Apps & Integrations area, find the Integrations and Services tab. Click it to see all available integrations, including any you’ve already installed.

Select the Curated Local Events Integration
Use the search bar to locate the Curated Local Events integration. Click on it to begin the setup process.

Set Your Location
Search for a location to fetch events happening in and around that area. Enter the city or area where you want to source local events.

Choose a Radius
Set the radius (in miles) to determine how far out from your selected location to look for events. The maximum allowed radius is 20 miles, ensuring you capture relevant nearby happenings.

Add to Collections
Choose which collections you want the local events to be posted to as Hoots. Collections help keep your content organized for your audience. You can select existing collections or create new ones, like “local-events” or “community-happenings”.

Select a Hoot Background Color
Pick a background color for the Hoots posted by this integration to match your board’s style or brand. You can choose a specific color for consistency or select the Random option for a variety of colors. We recommend the random option for a lively, dynamic look!

Install the Integration
Once you’ve configured your settings, click the Install Integration button to activate the integration.
Your Curated Local Events Integration Is Active!. Congratulations! Your integration is now live. Your HootBoard will automatically pull real-time event data from Yodel’s AI event calendar and post it as Hoots based on your settings. Expect new events to appear within 15 minutes of being published.

Tips for Success
Choose a Relevant Location: Pick a location central to your audience to ensure the events are meaningful to them.
Adjust the Radius Thoughtfully: A smaller radius (e.g., 5-10 miles) is great for hyper-local events, while 20 miles can capture broader community happenings.
Use Collections for Organization: Group events into collections to make it easier for your audience to find what interests them.
Play with Colors: The random color option adds visual flair, but a consistent color can align with your brand’s look.
