How to Set Up RSS Feed Integration on Your HootBoard

Our RSS feed integration lets you effortlessly bring content from your favorite news sources, blogs, or other RSS-supported platforms directly to your HootBoard. This feature automatically pulls updates and posts them as Hoots, keeping your board fresh and engaging. 

 

Follow these detailed steps to set it up and start sharing content with ease.

1. Log in to Your Account
   Start by signing in to your account.

2. Navigate to Your HootBoard
   Click on your HootBoard from My Boards page.

3. Access Apps & Integrations
   On the admin panel. Click on the Apps & Integrations option.

   

4. Explore Integrations and Services
   In the Apps & Integrations area, you’ll find the Integrations and Services tab. Click it to view a list of all available integrations, including those you’ve already installed. This is your one-stop shop for connecting external content sources to your HootBoard.

   

5. Select the RSS Feed Integration
   Use the search bar to find the RSS Feed integration. Click on the RSS Feed option to start the setup process.

6. Enter Your RSS Feed URL
   In the setup window, you’ll be prompted to enter the RSS feed URL for the content source you want to connect. For example, this could be a blog, news site, or podcast feed that supports RSS. Double-check that the URL is valid (it should typically end in .xml or point to an RSS feed). An invalid URL may prevent the integration from working, so take a moment to ensure accuracy.

   

7. Choose Your Collections
   Next, decide which collections you want the RSS feed content to be posted to as Hoots. Collections help organize your content, making it easier for your audience to find what’s relevant. You can select existing collections or create new ones directly from this setup screen if you need more options. For example, you might create a “news-updates” collection for a news feed or a “blog-highlights” collection for a blog feed.

8. Select a Hoot Color Theme
   Customize the look of your Hoots by choosing a color theme that matches your brand or board aesthetic. You can pick a specific color for consistency, or select the Random option to have Hoots posted with a variety of colors. We recommend the random option—it adds a fun, dynamic vibe to your board!

9. Install the Integration
   Once you’ve configured the settings, click the Install Integration button to finalize the setup. This will activate the RSS feed integration, connecting your chosen feed to your HootBoard.

10. Your RSS Feed Integration Is Active!
    Congratulations! Your RSS feed integration is now up and running. Whenever there’s new content on the connected RSS feed, your HootBoard will automatically pull it and post it as a Hoot based on your chosen settings. Updates typically appear within 15 minutes of being published on the feed.
