What is HootBoard CityGuide?
HootBoard CityGuide is an interactive guide that showcases business listings, places, or attractions on a map alongside a listing view, complete with seamless wayfinding to help users explore destinations effortlessly.
How is CityGuide populated?
CityGuide is powered by multiple data sources to ensure comprehensive and up-to-date listings:
- HootBoard Places: A curated list of places compiled by HootBoard, sourced from popular platforms like Google, Yelp, and other trusted sources, as well as HootBoard’s own local research.
- Custom CSV Uploads: Admins can upload places to CityGuide using a CSV file formatted to HootBoard’s specifications.
- Custom Integrations: HootBoard supports integrations with popular CRMs such as SimpleView, Tempest, and others, allowing seamless data syncing from these platforms.
How can you add accounts/listings to CityGuide?
To add listings to CityGuide, you can use any of the following methods:
- HootBoard Places: Listings are automatically populated from HootBoard’s curated data sources, including Google, Yelp, and HootBoard’s local research.
- Custom CSV Uploads: Admins can upload a CSV file with place details in the required format to add new listings.
- Custom Integrations: Connect CityGuide to CRMs like SimpleView or Tempest to import listings directly from these platforms.
- Coming Soon: CityGuide PRO users (or those with CityGuide PRO included in their bundles) will soon have access to an admin portal. This portal will allow users to easily add, remove, or manage listings directly within the platform.
How can you delete an account/listing that is out of business?
HootBoard ensures listings remain current through the following processes:
- HootBoard Places: Listings are updated monthly, syncing with original data sources (e.g., Google, Yelp). If a place is marked as closed or out of business in the source data, it is automatically removed from CityGuide.
- Custom CSV Uploads: Admins can manually download the current CSV, update it to remove outdated listings, and re-upload it to sync the changes.
- Custom Integrations: Data from integrated CRMs (e.g., SimpleView, Tempest) syncs every few days, ensuring that changes, such as a business closing, are reflected in CityGuide within a short time.
- Coming Soon: With the upcoming admin portal for CityGuide PRO users (or those with CityGuide PRO in their bundles), you’ll be able to directly manage and remove listings through a simple interface, streamlining the process.
