Think of collections as categories for your Hootboard that allow you to quickly filter through posts aka hoots that have been #tagged a certain way. Read more about Collections here.
Collections are used in a number of ways. They are used in two ways:
- Collection Apps - create a collections application for your board navigation to match #tags. When that app is tapped on a kiosk or our mobile apps, it will load up with those hoots. For example, HR Announcements app can be matched to #announcements or Job Openings can be matched to #jobs.
Tip: When a collection app is loaded up, secondary #tags will show up. This is a great way to filter through lots of hoots. For example, Job Openings app is tapped, then you can tap on a secondary tag for #engineering to load up engineering specific jobs.
- Default Content to Load Up - When your display loads up, it can load up with specified content by default. This allows you to not have every post load up but only collects or hoots that you want to highlight.
Tip: Create a #tag such as #featured or #front-page to make it easy to specify which hoots to show and allows you to pull it in from various collections.
