Users wishing to delete their user account have to simply email support@hootboard.com from their registered email address requesting to do so. They do not need to be logged in to be able to do so.
What personal data is deleted:
HootBoard is a private organization platform and your posts are owned by the respective organizations you were a member of. All HootBoard content has to be posted to a specific organization's HootBoard. With that said follow data can be completely deleted to comply with various right-to-forget laws.
- All your Personally Identifiable Information - PII - HootBoard typically uses your email, First Name, and Last Name
- All favorited content from boards you are a member of
- Public comments not associated with a private organization.
- All other content owned by an organization is anonymized but still usable by the organization if the administrators decide to keep it.
Deleting Organizational HootBoard and Data:
If one of the administrators of a HootBoard decides to DELETE the board, all board data is moved to a temporary archive. Administrators then have a 30 Day window before the data is permanently purged. All of the organization's files, posts, comments, member history, screen connections, payment history are permanently lost at this point.
Administrators wishing to delete their HootBoard can do so under the "Manage Board" function.
