How to Create a Prize Wheel Configuration (Admin Guide)

Overview

The Prize Wheel Manager allows administrators to create and configure interactive prize wheels. This guide walks you through the process of creating a new prize wheel configuration using the admin dashboard.

Steps to Create a New Prize Wheel

Step 1: Access the Prize Wheel App on your web dashboard.

1. Log in to the HootBoard Admin Dashboard

2. Navigate to the Apps section.

3. Find the Prize Wheel App
4. Click on edit and navigate to the customizations section
5. Click on Customize, an admin section should appear.

6. If no prize wheels exist, you will see a prompt to Create Your First Wheel. Otherwise, click Create New Wheel(top-right corner).

Step 2: Enter Basic Information

1. A modal window labelled Create New Prize Wheel will appear.

2. In the Basic Info tab, enter:

   • Title: Name your prize wheel.

   • Description: Add a brief description.

   • Call to Action Text: Customize the button text (e.g., "Spin the Wheel!").

   • Enable Touch Spin: Toggle ON if you want users to spin the wheel via touch.

   • Show this wheel on: Select the screens where this wheel will be available (e.g., Main Screen, Lobby, Event Area).

3. Click Next or proceed to the next tab.

Step 3: Configure Wheel Sections

1. In the Wheel Sections tab, click Add Section to create a new prize segment.

2. Configure the section:

   • Label: Set a name for the section (e.g., "50% OFF")

   • Outcome & Probability: Set an outcome on what the section will act like.

3. Repeat these steps to add multiple sections.

4. Click Save Changes to finalize.

Step 4: Select Theme for your Prize Wheel 

1. Navigate to the Appearance tab to see how the wheel will appear and select a theme from available pre-sets, you can also choose your own board theme colours.

Step 5: Preview and Save

1. Navigate to the Preview tab to see how the wheel will appear.

2. If satisfied, click Create Wheel to save the configuration.

3. The new prize wheel will now appear in the Prize Wheel Manager dashboard.

Managing Existing Prize Wheels

• To edit an existing wheel, click Edit Configuration on the wheel card.

• To delete a section, open the Wheel Sections tab and click the trash icon on the corresponding section.

• To update the appearance, modify the appearance section.
