HootBoard makes it easy to share files, flyers, and other attachments with your audience. You can do this in two main ways:
1. Add files as an App on your board
2. Attach files directly to a Hoot (post)
Follow the steps below to choose the option that works best for you.
Option 1: Add a File App to Your Board
From your board, go to Apps & Integrations.
Under Add Apps on this board, select File App.
Enter basic details such as the app name, icon, etc., then click Next.
On the next screen, upload your file or add a file URL.
Supported file types: .png, .jpg, .pdf, .doc, .ppt, .xls
You can drag & drop your file, choose one from your computer, or paste a file URL.
Click Create App.
The file will now appear as an app tile on your board. When someone clicks it, the file will open.
Option 2: Add Attachments to a Hoot
On your board, click Post Here (top right).
Select the Hoot category where you want your post to go.
To add images:
Use the Drag & Drop or Add Images section
To add other file types (like PDFs):
In the Add-ons section below description, select Upload File.
Upload your file.
Fill in other Hoot details (background color, title, description, etc.).
Click Next to set privacy and collections option.
Post Hoot
Your attachment will now appear as part of your Hoot, making it easy for viewers to open or download.
That’s it!
You now know two ways to share attachments and flyers on HootBoard.
Use the File App if you want a dedicated app on your board.
Attach to a Hoot if you want to share files as part of your hoots.
Both options make it simple to distribute flyers, forms, and documents with your audience.
