Yes HootBoard's digital signage product (static screen) supports video playing (maximum 6 minutes). You will need to upload your video on a 3rd party site like YouTube and Vimeo.
NOTE - If you don't want your video to be visible to the public make sure the privacy/visibility setting is set to unlisted. If your video is set to private, it can not be accessed on HootBoard.
Once uploaded you can post a hoot by pasting the URL of that video. If your Screen Id is setup to display that post, it will auto-play the first 6 minutes of the video when it hits it in the sequence.
Here's a full list of video sites that we support:
- YouTube
- SoundCloud
- Streamable
- Vidme
- Vimeo
- Wistia
- Twitch
- DailyMotion
What about closed captions?
We currently have support for YouTube Closed Captions, it is enabled and enforced by default.
So if you have a Video where the content creator has added Closed Captions, it will show up
on the Video by default. Here's a link on how to add/enable CC on YouTube.
